3 mm Diamond Coated & Polished CMM Styli

Diamond Product Solutions is the first company in the world who is manufacturing Diamond Coated & Polished CMM Styli.  These CMM Styli are coated with real polycrystalline diamond. This diamond coating has the same properties as natural diamond, being the hardest material know .

Diamond Product Solutions is able to process this rather rough diamond coating by polishing it with very special processes. After the polishing these CMM Styli have a high degree of smoothness and form accuracy.  Form accuracy is < G5  and get as low as 50 nm. Smoothness is standard < 5 nm Ra.

Until now it was not possible to process real diamond coatings to the high degree of smoothness and form accuracy which is needed for use in CMM applications.

Now,  Diamond Coated & Polished CMM Styli can be produced with  3 mm as the standard diameter and other diameters on request.

Also special diameters and other spherical designs can be easely made . 

Diamond is the hardest material know and has unique properties such as:

• highest wear resistant of all materials, so no diameter change and built up during use
• lowest friction coefficient against other materials therefore no stick-slip and vibrations during measuring
